Colorado added to its 2019 football recruiting class on Saturday, when linebacker Jashua Allen of Arizona Western College committed to the Buffaloes.

Rated a 4-star prospect by 247sports.com, Allen is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound inside linebacker who will have two years to play and the possibility of a redshirt year when he gets to CU in January.

Last year, Allen played at Riverside Community College last year, posting 46 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss.

247Sports.com lists Allen as the No. 6 overall junior college prospect for the 2019 class. His other offers include Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa State, Utah, Washington State and Colorado State.

Allen is the 18th player to commit to CU for the class, and the second inside linebacker. Cherry Creek High School's Alec Pell recently committed to the Buffs.

CU returns four inside linebackers next year - current sophomores Akil Jones and Nate Landman and redshirt freshmen Chase Newman and Jon Van Diest - but recently had true freshman Clyde Moore leave the team. The Buffs will also graduate senior starters Rick Gamboa and Drew Lewis.
