The Colorado volleyball team snapped its two-game losing streak with a sweep of Arizona on Friday night at Coors Events Center.
Led by junior Alexa Smith, the Buffs rolled to the 25-20, 25-18, 25-19 victory.
Smith had 12 kills and seven digs to lead the way for the Buffs (20-8, 10-7 Pac-12), who hit the 20-win mark for just the second time in the last 14 years (also in 2014, with 20 wins).
"It's not very often that you get a sweep in the Pac-12, especially on back-to-back weekends," CU head coach Jesse Mahoney said. "It's nice to only play three instead of four or five. I thought it was a very good performance by us.
"It's tough to find a lot to complain about from this match."
The Buffs have won eight of their last 11 and finished a two-match season sweep of Arizona (10-16, 4-13). CU has won its last seven against the Wildcats.
Back-to-back kills by Smith ended the first game and got the Buffs off to a good start.
In the second game, Naghede Abu had three late kills to help the Buffs pull away for a 2-0 lead in the match.
Arizona came out strong to start the third, taking a 10-8 lead. A pair of kills by Anna Pfefferle and an ace by Brynna DeLuzio swung the momentum, however. Two consecutive aces by Rachel Whipple extended CU's lead to 22-15 and they cruised from there.
Frankie Shebby added 10 kills and seven digs and DeLuzio had 33 assists and six digs.
CU will host Arizona State on Saturday at 7 p.m.
