The Colorado volleyball team began the second half of the Pac-12 Conference schedule with perhaps its most impressive performance of the season.

The Buffaloes took control with a fast start and stood strong during a comeback bid by host Oregon, eventually holding on for a five-set with against the 15th-ranked Ducks. It was the Buffs' fourth win in their past five games and their third consecutive win on the road.

Combined with a win at home against Oregon a month ago, it is the first time CU has swept the season series from the Ducks since joining the Pac-12 in 2011.

The Buffs won the first two sets but went into the decisive fifth set on the wrong end of the game's momentum after Oregon crushed CU 25-9 in the fourth set. Yet CU was able to prevail 15-10 in the fifth set to earn just its second win in eight matches at Oregon.

CU junior Frankie Shebby, a former Oregon player, paced the Buffs with 14 kills, and it was a memorable night for senior middle blocker Anna Pfefferle, who posted a season-high 13 kills and also added six blocks. Naghede Abu recorded eight kills and three blocks and joined Pfefferle in elite company by becoming just the sixth CU player to record at least 400 blocks in her career. Pfefferle reached that milestone earlier this season.

Alexa Smith recorded 11 kills and 14 digs for the Buffs, while Gabby Carta-Samuels tallied a team-leading 17 digs. Freshman setter Brynna DeLuzio recorded 47 assists.

The Buffs will look to complete a season sweep of both Oregon schools when they visit Oregon State on Saturday night.
