The voice of the Colorado Buffaloes isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

On Thursday, the university announced that Mark Johnson, the voice of CU football and men's basketball radio broadcasts, has has been hired full-time by the athletic department as CU's new director of audio broadcasting.

Johnson, who has called CU men's basketball and football games since 2004, also will provide additional interview and video content to CUBuffs.com for all CU sports.

"We're all excited to bring Mark on board to further enhance what we are doing with our website and reaching out to our fan base," athletic director Rick George said in a statement. "He has served the department well for over a decade, emceeing several of our events and hosting our in-house produced television shows. Mark is well known to our constituents and it's great that we can continue our relationship with him."

Johnson was hired as the sports director at KOA in 2004 but lost that position this past spring in a budget-cutting move. Johnson still was going to remain CU's primary broadcaster anyway.
