It has been a chaotic offseason for the roster of the Colorado women's basketball team, with three players transferring out of the program following coach JR Payne's deubt 2016-17 campaign.

The Buffaloes' experience level has taken yet another hit, as Ariana Freeman has decided to end her playing career.

Freeman sat out the 2015-16 season after transferring from Louisville but proved to be a solid scorer off the bench last year for the Buffs. Freeman played in 31 games as a reserve, averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds. Though she often struggled through knee issues, Freeman posted 11 double-digit scoring efforts, including a season-best 24 points while going 11-for-16 from the floor in a home win against St. Francis (N.Y.) on Nov. 25.

Freeman's departure follows the transfers of Monica Burich, Mackenzie Ellis, and Eleanor Jones earlier this year.

Freeman, who would have been a junior eligibility-wise but is beginning her senior year in the classroom, will remain at CU to complete her degree. She already has become a fixture at CU sporting events as part of the school's broadcast media and social media staff.
