It wasn't the hardware everyone would have preferred. Nonetheless, Tad Boyle is coming back to Colorado with a shiny new medal.
On Sunday the United States U19 men's basketball national team, which features the Colorado Buffaloes' leader as an assistant coach, salvaged some pride by winning the bronze medal game of the FIBA World Cup in Egypt. The Americans defeated Spain 96-72 to claim third-place. The U.S. was eliminated from gold medal contention on Saturday with a 99-87 defeat against eventual gold-medal winner Canada.
Boyle also earned a bronze medal as an assistant for the 2015 Pan American national team.
