Leonard scored 10 of her points in overtime, including 5-for-6 at the free throw line in the final 48 seconds.

After Leonard hit a pair of free throws with 6 minutes, 23 seconds to go in the fourth, the Buffs had their biggest lead of the game, 58-45, but South Dakota State (23-9) outscored the Buffs 18-5 down the stretch to send the game into overtime.

The Jackrabbits, who came in riding a 10-game home winning streak, took the lead on a pair of free throws early in the extra period.

Moments later, a 3-pointer by Leonard sparked a 13-2 game-changing run for the Buffs. That run was highlighted by a 3-pointer from Smith, an offensive board and put-back from Zoe Beard-Fails and a key layup from freshman Quinessa Caylao-Do.

CU played without stellar sophomore guard Alexis Robinson, who injured her knee in practice on Saturday. In her place, Caylao-Do got her first career start. She had just four points, but played a season-high 39 minutes and had a personal-best five assists.

Center Zoe Correal gave the Buffs a lift in the paint, with eight points and five rebounds before fouling out.
