On Thursday morning, it was announced Pac-12 Conference commissioner Larry Scott agreed to a contract extension through June of 2022. Scott took over the Pac-12 leadership role in 2009, and the new extension continues an agreement that was set to expire next year. Among the highlights of Scott's tenure have been the creation of the Pac-12 football championship game, the launching of the Pac-12 Networks, and the addition of Colorado and Utah to the league.
"I am very proud of what we have been able to achieve as a conference," Scott said in a statement released by the league. "And I am deeply gratified by the expression of support and confidence that this extension represents. We have many challenges and opportunities ahead, and I look forward to working with our presidents, athletic directors, administrators, coaches, and student-athletes to move the Pac-12 Conference forward in the coming years."
