SALT LAKE CITY — Emily Potter scored 16 points, shooting 8 for 10 from the field, and had 11 rebounds and Utah bounced back from Thursday night's loss against Colorado to beat the Buffs 58-53 on Saturday.

Utah (14-7, 3-7 Pac-12) took control of the game in the fourth quarter on a 3 by Malia Nawahine and back-to-back layups by Potter and Nawahine to lead 52-49 with 3:56 left.

The Buffs, who snapped a five-game losing streak with a 54-49 win against the Utes on Wednesday in Boulder, were victimized by 16-0 and 10-0 Utah surges in the final two quarters.

"16-0, 10-0 . . . you can't survive those kinds of runs," Buffs coach JR Payne said.

Kennedy Leonard led CU with 13 points and was the only Buffs player in double digits. Alexis Robinson and Monica Burich added 9 points each, with Burich scoring her total in the first half.

Nawahine scored 13 points and Tanaeya Boclair added 10 for the Utes, who won despite missing 13 free throws (6 for 19). Utah shot 23 for 56 from the floor (41 percent) to 19 for 52 for Colorado.

Utah outrebounded CU 42-34.

"We got outrebounded tonight so we didn't rebound very well." Payne said. "And we gave Potter a ton of second-chance opportunities on the offensive glass so that was a negative that we did differently and a positive for them."
