A familiar face to two current Colorado Buffaloes volleyball stars is among a pair of recruits head coach Jesse Mahoney has added to the program.

On Wednesday, CU announced the addition of Kiara McKibben and Marie Zimmerman to the 2016 roster.

McKibben is a transfer from the University of San Francisco, but she also is a Colorado native who played alongside current Buffs Cierra Simpson and Gabby Simpson at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs. McKibben played three seasons at San Francisco and started every match for the Dons last year as a junior, leading the team with 687 assists.

Zimmerman played two seasons of collegiate volleyball at Sacred Heart, topping 50 assists in a match twice and posting a career-best 13 kills in three different contests. Zimmerman, another Colorado native from Lakewood High School, actually transferred to Boulder a year ago and spent this past year competing with CU's club team.

The duo joins a 2016 recruiting class that already includes a highly-regarded transfer in sophomore Alexa Smith, alongside true freshmen Lauren Dorrell, Lillie Klemmer, Justine Spann, and Rachel Whipple.
