The University of Colorado women's soccer team is doing its best to make a significant impact off the field.

Last month, the Buffaloes spent volunteer time with the Emergency Family Assistance Association by helping families at a family housing site in Lafayette. Among the duties performed by the Buffs were cleaning up yards, hanging decorations in houses, assembling a playground and organizing laundry supplies and food pantries in the complex's central unit.

"We have partnered with EFAA to help local families in need," CU head coach Danny Sanchez said. "Our day spent in Lafayette was at an apartment complex that serves as transition housing for families. We built a climbing wall for the kids, cleaned out storage rooms, did yard maintenance work around the complex and cleaned and organized apartments for families to move into. We look forward to continuing to work with this great organization and help in any way we can."

CU said it plans to continue its partnership with EFAA in the future.
