The Colorado tennis team suffered its second straight loss on Sunday, losing 6-1 at Washington State in Pullman, Wash.

CU fell to 6-9 overall and 1-3 in the Pac-12, while WSU improved to 16-4 and 2-3 in Pac-12 play. CU dropped the doubles point for the fourth consecutive match, falling 6-3 at No. 2 and 6-3 at No. 1.

The Buffaloes were much more competitive in singles play. Nuria Ormeño Ruiz won the first set 6-3 at No. 1 singles and battled for a 7-5 win in the third set after splitting the first two sets. Her match was the last to finish, keeping CU from being shut out. With the win, she moved to 20-7 overall this season, including 5-2 since taking over the No. 1 position in the lineup.
