According to a report from the good folks at Rivals.com, Colorado has made an offer to Arvada West 7-footer Dallas Walton.

Walton has endured a pair of surgeries to repair torn ACLs, but he is enjoying a solid senior season with the Wildcats. Through 17 games, Walton has averaged 16.8 points and 10.9 rebounds while shooting 59 percent from the floor (117-for-198).

After losing out on Australian big man Harry Froling, who ultimately chose SMU over the Buffs, landing a premier post player remains a high priority for the Buffs. The pending graduation of Josh Scott will leave the Buffs with just two true post players in Wesley Gordon and Tory Miller. Bosnian forward Kenan Guzonjic plays more of an inside-outside game along the lines of a less-polished version of Xavier Johnson, who also will likely still be in the fold next season after working his way back from a torn Achilles suffered last summer.

According to Rivals.com, Walton also has offers from Denver, Wyoming, Brown, and Middle Tennessee. The late signing period for basketball does not begin until April 13.
