The Colorado tennis team came away with two wins at San Diego State Invitational on Saturday.

Brigitte Beck and Kyra Wojcik earned a 6-3 victory in doubles over Scarlett Rush and Fiona Majende from San Diego. After a victory on Friday, Tina Bokhua and Annabelle Andrinopoulos dropped a match on Saturday, falling 6-3 to a pair from Cal State-Northridge.

In singles, Bokhua picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win over Galina Bykova from Fresno State to advance to the finals of the top singles bracket after a straight-set win on Friday. Andrinopoulos dropped a tight 7-5, 7-6 (6) match to Mary Meyers from Air Force. Wojcik also had a close match, falling in three sets to Elizabeth Barnickle from Air Force.

"Today was not the day that we were hoping for in the results column," head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "We played several tight sets but were not able to get over the finish line. I fully expect us to take advantage from today's experiences and to learn and grow for the next time we put ourselves in a winning position. We played some tough competitors and we need to continue to rise in this environment. The bright spots of the day were the adjustments that Brigitte and Kyra made in doubles and Tina played a solid singles match after closing out a tough first set. I am looking forward to seeing us on Day 3 of this tournament and to see our competitiveness tomorrow."

Play will conclude on today with doubles competition beginning at 9 a.m. PST.
