LaMar never figured his chance at playing in the league would come in his hometown. But when the Colorado Buffaloes turn west to become part of the expanded Pac-12 next fall, the Fairview High senior will be in tow.
The 6-foot-1, 255-pound LaMar committed last week to join the Buffs as a preferred walk-on at long snapper, where he`ll compete with Ryan Iverson and Kyle Slavin for playing time.
LaMar said he had a similar offer from Colorado State, not to mention scholarship offers from various Division-II schools. The Buffs, he said, were later to the recruiting game, but the wait was worth it.
"I didn`t really think much about CU going into recruiting because they said they had a long-snapper," LaMar said. "... But they became interested."
LaMar joins fellow former FHS Knight Arthur Jaffee -- a senior defensive back next fall -- on the CU roster.
