Colorado coaches are making some changes to their offensive line after a poor showing at California last week.

Junior Mike Iltis replaced Ethan Adkins at left guard last week and is now moving into the starting center job for this week's home opener against Hawaii at Folsom Field.

Iltis replaces Keenan Stevens.

Adkins is moving back into the starting role at left guard.

Offensive line coach Denver Johnson said he doesn't view the moves as a promotion or demotion for any of the players involved because he is continuing to evaluate all of his linemen to find the best five.

"That's not a demotion of Keenan," Johnson said. "What we've got there is a cluster of guys there and there's not a lot of difference in them. We want to reward good play. We want to get everyone some work. We're just trying to search for the guys who play the best, the most consistently."

Coach Dan Hawkins held his weekly media luncheon today at the Dal Ward Center on campus to discuss his team's performance against the Bears and an explosive Hawaii team.

The Buffs are once again ranked at or near the bottom of the offensive statistical rankings in the Big 12 Conference and the nation after two weeks of football. It has been a constant problem throughout Hawkins' tenure in Boulder, but the coach remains optimistic about getting it turned around.

"A lot it of I think is totally correctable," Hawkins said.
