Colorado running back Darrell Scott will undergo minor arthroscopic knee surgery today but is not expected to miss an extended amount of playing time, coach Dan Hawkins said.

"They`ve just got to clean up some stuff," Hawkins said. "They don`t have to take anything out. They just have to clean it up."

Scott originally injured his knee on the opening kickoff of the Sept. 11 game at Toledo. He has fought through pain to play three of the four games since then, with most of his action coming as a kickoff returner.

The sophomore from Ventura, Calif., is averaging nearly 27 yards per kick return this season, and the Buffs kickoff return team ranks 27th nationally.

Brian Lockridge is expected to fill that role until Scott returns. Scott was not made available to media members who don`t work for CU after the announcement Wednesday.
