Colorado head football coach Mike MacIntyre will take part in the 11th Annual Colorado Coaches for Charity event on Friday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

MacIntyre will join several other area football coaches, including Colorado State's Mike Bobo, Air Force's Troy Calhoun, Northern Colorado's Earnest Collins Jr. and CSU-Pueblo's John Wristen.

Each coach will bring their supporters to Denver to help raise money for their respective charities. Proceeds raised will be split between each coaches' charity.

MacIntyre has chosen the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, which pairs children battling pediatric brain tumors and their families with college sports teams. In 2013, the Buffs "adopted" Longmont's Josiah Speer, who has battled brain cancer since he was three years old.

Each coach will also honor their annual recipient of the Jerry D. McMorris Community MVP Award. MacIntyre's award winners is Brad Calkins.

Money is also raised during to help sponsor single-parent children attend Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) summer camps. The event is sponsored by the Fisher DeBerry Foundation.

The event begins with a reception from 6-7 p.m., followed by dinner and the program. It is almost sold out, but limited seats are still available. Visit
