While things are going well for the Colorado football team on the field, the Buffaloes are doing well in recruiting, as well.

This weekend, CU will host several big-time recruits, who will be on hand for Saturday's game against Arizona State.

Three players currently committed to CU for the Class of 2017 will be on hand for their official visits:

  • RB Alex Fontenot, George Ranch HS (Richmond, Tex.), Scout.com: 3 stars
  • WR Laviska Shenault, DeSoto HS (DeSoto, Tex.), Scout: 4 stars
  • OL William Sherman, Allen HS (Allen, Tex.), Scout: 3 stars

Two players committed to other schools will be on hand, as well:

  • LB/TE Kyrei Fisher, Union HS (Tulsa, OK), Scout: 3 stars - Minnesota commit
  • OL Xavier Newman, DeSoto HS (DeSoto, Tex.), Scout: 3 stars - Texas commit

There will also be a handful of players who are uncommitted making their official visits to CU this weekend:

  • DB Trajon Cotton, Inderkum HS (Sacramento, Calif.), Scout: 3 stars
  • TE Josh Falo, Inderkum HS (Sacramento, Calif.), Scout: 4 stars
  • OLB Dimitri Moore, Cedar Hill HS (Cedar Hill, Tex.), Scout: 3 stars
  • ATH KD Nixon, DeSoto HS (DeSoto, Tex.), Scout: 4 stars
  • RB Kaegun Williams, Cedar Hill HS (Cedar Hill, Tex.), Scout: 3 stars

There are also expected to be some players in town for unofficial, including a few more DeSoto players.

Also in recruiting, I had a chance to catch up with a pair of Servite (Calif.) High School receivers last week.
