CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Scoring continues to be a major issue for the Colorado women's basketball team.

The Buffs had another poor performance on offense Thursday night in a 65-45 loss to Oregon State at Gill Coliseum.

Julie Seabrook had 10 points and was the only CU player with more than six. The Buffs made just 28.8 percent of their shots overall (15-for-52).

"We didn't make shots," head coach Linda Lappe said after the game on KVCU AM-1190. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that in order to win a game, you have to make shots. We were getting every shot that we practiced for the last two days and for the last five months, basically. I didn't feel like we were taking bad shots. I thought we were taking good shots that we practice all the time."

Yet, once again, it was another miserable start for the Buffs (15-6, 4-6 Pac-12), who dropped to 2-5 in their last seven games.

A Lexy Kresl 3-pointer was the only field goal CU had in the first 13-plus minutes, as they started 1-for-18 from the floor.

"I don't know what else to do," Lappe said. "We were getting 12-foot shots, 10-foot shots, shots at the rim, shots in transition, shots off drives at the rim. I don't know what better shots that our group can get and it's just going to come down to a matter of stepping up and knocking them down."

The poor shooting out of the game continued a recent trend:

Against Stanford, CU went 6:59 without a point and 8:22 without a field goal to start the game.

At Arizona State, the Buffs went scoreless for the first 8:17 and needed 12:17 to hit their first field goal.

Sunday against UCLA, the Buffs started 0-for-13 from the field, finally hitting a shot 6:39 in.

Despite the struggles out of the gate, the Buffs trailed just 8-7 after Seabrook hit a pair of free throws with 13:07 to go in the first half Thursday.

A 19-4 Oregon State run, however, buried the Buffs, who went nearly nine minutes without a field goal at one point in the first half.

The Beavers led 33-17 at the half, but CU showed some life after intermission, scoring the first five points. A 3-pointer by Meagan Malcolm-Peck cut the Beavers' lead to 33-22.

A 14-4 Oregon State run put CU down by 21, however, and the deficit stretched to as many as 27 points in the second half.

"It's so hard to play defense when we're not hitting shots and also when you're turning the ball over," said Lappe, whose team had 22 turnovers.

Chucky Jeffery, averaging 15.5 points per game, finished with six points. Five of those came late in the game, after Oregon State took its 27-point lead. She needs eight points to reach 1,000 for her career.

Like the rest of the team, Jeffery needs to get her shot going for the Buffs to rebound from this one.

"We're in a major slump right now," Lappe said. "We haven't shot the ball well in a lot of games.

"We've got to start shooting the ball better if we want to be a contender in this league."

Notable

CU is 33-for-110 (30 percent) from the floor in the last two games combined, and has connected on less than 40 percent of its shots in eight of 10 conference games. ... Jeffery had scored in double figures in 19 straight games, but has been held to single digits in four of the past six games since. ... CU has lost its last two games despite out-rebounding its opponents. The Buffs were 13-0 when holding the edge on the glass before Sunday. ... Earlysia Marchbanks led the Beavers with 13 points.
